The Grand Banks 42 Motor Yacht accommodates five adults in three cabins. There is a pipe berth over the port side single berth that can be used for an additional adult or a child. A child could sleep on the settee as well. Allie Mae was built with an extra refrigerator and freezer in the saloon, and her galley was customized at the factory to expand counter and storage space.
Allie Mae has a beautiful Owner’s Stateroom (aft) with an island queen bed, teak bureaus and desk, hanging lockers, and a private head and shower. There is 16,000 BTU of air conditioning in this stateroom, the saloon, and the 2 forward cabins.
The aft head has teak and white décor, ample storage beneath and next to sink counter. The shower is the starboard side of the Stateroom. The shower is roomy, with a nice bench seat and teak grating on the sole.
Allie Mae has an “L” galley with a double stainless steel sink, Princess range, and oven, ample storage in drawers and under the counter. Dish storage is below the windshield.

The engine room on these Grand Banks trawlers is large with good headroom and is accessed thru the saloon sole and behind the forward companionway steps. This boats owner obviously knows that “ship shape” is just as important in the engine room as elsewhere.
