Owners Stateroom (A)

The large aft stateroom is comfortable for a couple and offers privacy and seclusion. The aft stateroom is the full width of the vessel with the Grand Banks Hereshoff teak and white interior. There is ample storage in hanging lockers, cupboards, and drawers. There is a nightstand on either side of the island queen bed, and a writing desk with an AC power outlet conveniently located above. Additional privacy is afforded this stateroom due to the ensuite head and shower. As with all GB 42s, there are three separate air conditioning units, one for each cabin. Opening ports and an overhead hatch provide ventilation and natural light.

Aft Head (B)

The aft head (B) is forward of the bed on the port side of the aft cabin. There is great storage both beneath the vanity and in the locker above. On Allie Mae both heads have marble countertops and an opening window.

Aft Shower

The aft shower (C) is forward and to starboard. It features a teak bench, teak grating over the shower pan, a cupboard for shower supplies, and an opening window.

The saloon (D) is forward and 3 steps up from the aft stateroom. Note the closed doors that provide privacy for the Owners Stateroom aft. The saloon on Allie Mae has the large GB “L” settee and drop-leaf teak yacht table with bottle storage underneath. There is a dry bar forward of the settee with glassware storage, two drawers, and a cabinet for stores. The large windows allow for a lot of light during the day, and a great view. The galley is integrated into the saloon on this boat.

The top loading refrigerator and freezer (E) are opposite the settee and aft of the port entry door. There is a microwave oven and TV aft and above the freezer. The top loading refrigeration increases available counter space for meal preparation. Deck chairs are available to increase seating at the teak yacht table.

The “L” galley (F) features a large double stainless steel sink and a Force 10 three burner stove and oven. There is a drawer for silverware and a large cupboard below the counter. Storage for dishes is under the counter below the windshield. Three drawers provide organization of cooking utensils, potholders and towels, and food storage supplies. Pots and pans are stored in the locker below the range.

Helm Station

The lower helm station is to starboard opposite the galley. Here there are dual engine controls and instruments and a chart plotter. The VHF radio and autopilot are located in the electronics locker above the windshield. A chart locker is located to port of the helm. The large teak wheel and excellent visibility make piloting from this position a pleasure. The helmsperson has quick access to the deck through an entry door outboard of the helm.

Single Cabin

The single cabin (G) is forward of the galley and down the forward companionway. Here there is a hanging locker, nightstand with drawers, and drawers beneath the single berth. This cabin also has a pipe berth above the single berth for an additional child.

Forward Head

The forward head (H) and shower (I) are to starboard opposite the single cabin. There is a marble countertop and ample storage above and below the vanity, and behind the marine toilet.

Forward Shower

The forward shower (I) has shelves for shampoo and soap, and safe footing on the teak grate over the shower pan with sump pump. There are two opening ports in this cabin, one in the shower and one above the vanity.

Forward Stateroom

The forward stateroom (J) has a large V-berth with drawers beneath, a hanging locker to starboard, and a bureau to port for storage. This cabin has its own reverse cycle air conditioning, two opening windows, and an overhead hatch.
