This Grand Banks 42 had some rot in the side door. Some yards would just throw some putty in the hole and repaint, but we felt it needed further investigation. It's a good thing we did, as the rot had spread much further than one would have guessed by looking at the damage.

The first step was to remove all the hardware and the rot, in this case everything from the outside, in.

We then rebuilt the interior with a network of new fir beams to provide strength.

We did use marine plywood for the outer skin, but we encapsulted it with epoxy before painting.
