One question Eastbay owners have had in the past is where should we put the dinghy? A variey of davits have been installed and stowage techniques devised.
However these solutions can spoil the lines of the classic Ray Hunt design. John Shannahan of the Oxford Yacht Agency came up with the ultimate solution. Improving an already existing design, he has built a hydraulically operated swim platform, which drops down and out. Extending arms cradle the dinghy onto the swim platform. Once in the water, you simply drive the dinghy away. One person can accomplish all this. The beauty of Oxford's system is that once the dinghy is launched, the cradle folds under the swim platform and you are left with a beautiful teak swim platform.
Oxford is offering retrofits on all Eastbay models. In addition owners of GB Motoryachts may find the system useful. For more information contact John Shannahan at 410.226.5454.
