Accommodations & Layout:

Forward are guest quarters with a V style berth with in-fill, large hanging locker and generous stowage in both drawers and lockers. Ensuite head compartment includes shower and manual MSD.


Main saloon is up three steps with galley to port. To starboard is the lower helm station with teak rimmed wheel, helm bench seat (with icemaker below). Full navionics and engine controls are convenient to the skipper, as is the starboard wing door. Aft of the helm seat is the freezer in a teak cabinet.


Aft of the helm area is an upholstered L shaped settee with a custom teak drop-leaf table. Twin barrel chairs aft of the galley, with a teak storage cabinet between them complete the seating plan.


The owner's stateroom is down three steps featuring centerline queen berth with night tables to each side and a small built-in desk. Additional storage includes three hanging lockers and bureau space appropriate to long-term living aboard. The toilet compartment and shower are on separate sides of the companionway.


Decor accents include original off-white Grand Banks window curtains with dark blue trim. Main saloon upholstery includes blue tufted fabric on the settee and cranberry ultra- suede on the barrel chairs. Soles (refinished on 2002) are varnished teak parquet. The interior style and appointments of a Grand Banks typifies a "proper yacht".


Galley:

Galley appointments include LPG stove with oven, built-in microwave, overhead folding dish lockers, under-counter refrigerator and separate freezer with Grunnert holdover plates. Single large sink is stainless w/ H&C pressure water and potable water via a dedicated Seagull tap.


Engine & Mechanical Details:

  • Twin Caterpillar 3208TA's with 375 HP, 2300 hrs. Glendenning engine synchronizers
  • Twin Disk MG 507-1 with upgraded control valves (induced delay for smoother shifting) and analog gauges (2003) for pressure and temperature.
  • Fireboy extinguishing system with auto & manual activation (new in 2002, oversized for 1100 cu..ft. engine room)
  • VDO gauges and senders (new 2002) oil pressure and coolant temperature Low coolant warning lights (new 2002) with sensors in expansion tanks

REMARKS:
KINGFISHER's owners have actively cruised the boat. Her captain, a former commercial pilot, has scrutinized each and every system on board with an eye toward reliability and redundancy. Maintenance has been scrupulous and pre-emptive. The owner's philosophy has been to replace and upgrade whenever possible and to anticipate maintenance needs, before they become evident.


The routine maintenance, required by all GB's, has been carefully observed including, removing window screens and tracks and repainting sills, repainting exterior window frames, replacement of fridge and freezer door gaskets, re-bedding of teak quarter-round at the deckhouse base, rebuilding forward head, refinishing teak parquet soles, routine recoating of teak brightwork (three coats of Epifanes each six months) and regular exterior wax on all surfaces.


Kingfisher feature a unique salon layout. With her freezer located just aft of the starboard entry door, the salon's aft portside provides the space necessary for a pair of comfortable chairs. The chairs greatly enhance the all around comfort of the boat.


The boat is offered complete with a permanent slip at Dewey Creek Marina in Bellhaven, NC. The slip will convey with the boat, and offers 30/50 amp shore power, and water.
