1999 Grand Banks 42 Classic profile

Coral Sea has an abundance of custom extras throughout the boat as well as the normal grand banks teak interior with parquet style sole that make her a warm and elegant yacht. She is equipped with top of the line electronics for both navigation (Northstar 962) and enjoyment (KVH Tracvision4 Satellite Dish and Bose Sound).

ACCOMMODATIONS AND LAYOUT:

GB 42 ClassicStarting forward is the Guest Stateroom featuring a v-berth with custom made cover and pillows. The stateroom has two opening ports and a large overhead hatch for ventilation when the air conditioner is not in use. Two stainless reading lamps were added for additional lighting. There are 6 drawers and a cedar lined hanging locker that provide more than adequate storage. And for longer range cruising, a storage bin was added under the floor board. The Guest Head is opposite the hanging locker and features a Vacuflush W.C., generous vanity with sink and H&C pressure water, en-suite shower with Grohe H&C plumbing fixture, and a separate sump and pump. Good stowage in 1 drawer and 2 lockers. Just aft and behind the steps there is a "crawl in" engine room access panel. The forward stateroom can be provided privacy via a sliding companionway hatch and door.

Up four steps from the v-berth are the Galley, Main Saloon, and Lower Helm Station. Forward and to port is the L-shaped galley, an option that offers an attractive alternative to the straight galley. Opposite and to starboard is the lower helm. The bench helmseat slides forward and aft, and beneath the seat are three custom sliding shelves. Aft of the helm is a dry bar with glass and bottle storage atop a built in U-line ice maker. The L-settee has a custom-built end table in the aft starboard corner on which sits a lamp and provides enclosed storage. Opposite the L-settee in the aft port corner is the entertainment center, a color TV and VCR sit on top of the cabinet while a Bose stereo/CD player (with sub-woofer) is housed below. The cabinet contains two draws and a large cupboard for storage. A bench settee runs forward of the cabinet (there is an insert which converts the settee to a berth). There is a standard sized GB dining table with bottle storage below in front of the L-settee.

All six of the settee benches open at the touch of a finger, thanks to the pneumatic gas lifts converting previously near-inaccessible storage to spectacularly convenient space. There are 2 additional stainless reading lights to port and starboard in the saloon. There are extra 110 outlets at the bar and L-settee, and all switches and outlets are Vimar. Although the boat is air conditioned thru-out, there are also screens for all opening windows and hatches. And, the floor has matching oriental rugs that protect the floor while enhancing the beauty of the interior.

Continuing aft and down three steps is the Master Stateroom featuring an island queen berth. The berth has a custom mattress and has been beautifully decorated with custom made cover, shams, and pillows. Stainless reading lights were added to each side of the berth. There are drawers under both sides of the berth including a full sized chart drawer. The port side contains a chest of draws with book storage above. In the port corner is a desk/vanity and phone. There are end tables on either side of the berth and drawers along the starboard side of the stateroom, on top of which sits another TV and VCR. Forward of the berth are two cedar lined lockers, one for hanging cloths and one with shelving. The Master head is forward to port with a generous Corian vanity with sink, Vacuflush W.C. and good stowage. The separate stall shower is forward to starboard and features Grohe H&C plumbing fixture. The head sink and the shower drain into a separate sump and pump.

GALLEY

The L-shaped Galley is forward and to port, featuring Corian counter tops and stainless steel sink with Grohe H&C plumbing fixture. Under the counter extension is a PolarMate front loading refrigeration box with teak door and a "back and top" loading freezer box with a Adler Barber holding plate system. Directly above the frig is a pullout cutting board (also Corian) which can also serve as additional counter space. There is a dish cabinet mounted above the counter at the aft end and a microwave/convection oven beneath the 3 burner propane cooktop at the forward end of the galley. Under the sink is a cabinet and under the oven is a drawer for storing pots and pans. A flip out trash container is neatly tucked away across the companionway for the fwd stateroom.
