Awlgrip Refinishing is a big deal with many potential buyers deciding to defer upgrading to new boats until the economic forecast is more positive. In response to the consumer's demand, we have been strengthening our Awlgrip Marine Finishing department to accomodate more boats by adding a new Awlgrip professional to our staff. Market Conditions Despite the downward trend of economic conditions, the smart seller knows the importance of offering the best boat in a slow market. There are fewer buyers who are demanding boats that are properly maintained, in good cosmetic condition and with good equipment. If your boat is at the bottom of the condition scale, there are few hopes for selling. OYA offers the ability to bring a boat to top condition and keep it that way because our boats for sale for the most part are kept inside during inclement weather and are not constantly physically depreciated each day by sun and wind and Dickerson Harbor is located in near fresh water so the effects of salt are nil.

Hurricane Party ... A participant view:

The last monthly cruise on the 2008 season was somewhat hampered by 40K winds and rain. Fourteen hearty, wet souls gathered at OYA to share friendship, food, spirits and John Shannahan's hospitality on Saturday evening. Our entertainment was watching Town Creek inch its way over Morris Road and cover some of the neighboring docks. After sufficiently doing damage to the appetizers supplied we waddled across the street to the Oxford Inn for dinner on the porch. The storm had passed leaving a gentile breeze and the state road crews monitoring the road conditions. Little yellow lights raced back and forth on their trucks, reflecting on the receding puddles. Raising our glasses to "Hanna", we toasted Mother Nature and were thankful no serious damage was apparent.

A good time was had by all, we even convinced some folks from WI. to join the club.
